Commercial Description:
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you'll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Pours nice deep dark in color but the tan head dissapeers quickly. has the coffee hint and malty aromas but the mouth feel is very weak for this style has a sweet then bitter after note. not one of my favorites.

Pours jet black with a nice tan head. Aroma is musty roasted malts, with hints of coffee. In the mouth it’s well carbonated and creamy. Flavor is a little weak, but still nice, with hints of coffee, chocolate and, well, sugar. Thanks to dra19 for the bottle!

Grabbed a bottle from the WBF. Pours a standard dark brew allowing some light around the edges. The head is medium, tan, and creamy. Aroma is mildly sweet, with a lot of grain, bitter chocolate, and a mild mild sweet hop towards the end. The flavor is sweet, bitter chocolate and coffee predominate, with some nutty and grainy notes in the background. Zero carbonation unless you agitate it in your mouth. Feels dead.

The color was a dark chocolate/black. The head was creamy, thin, and medium biege. The aroma was espresso, roast, light hazelnut, and chocolate. The flavor was good but not what I was expecting from the aroma. The flavor was weak espresso, roast, chocolate, and light citris hops. The palate had very little carbonation. The finish was roasty.

Poured from the bottle. Very small, quickly diminishing head of tan foam. Dark brown body. A dusky aroma of molasses and roasted coffee greeted my senses upon first sniff. This stout was of medium sweetness and was fairly unassuming otherwise. As is typical with this style there were strong roasted notes with a developing chocolately sweetness. I cheated myself on this brew by not allowing it to warm slightly before sampling it. Allowing this stout to warm slightly gives it a chance to fully develop it’s flavor. The aftertaste is akin to the feeling your tongue gets after drinking 8 espressos, not that that’s a bad thing...

Bottle: Black, tan head, nice lacing. Nose of sweet plum and roast, chocolate and coffee, vanilla and coca. The flavor is sweet and coconuty with nice dry cocoa and resinous chocolate.
