Commercial Description:
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you'll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Poured from the bottle. Very small, quickly diminishing head of tan foam. Dark brown body. A dusky aroma of molasses and roasted coffee greeted my senses upon first sniff. This stout was of medium sweetness and was fairly unassuming otherwise. As is typical with this style there were strong roasted notes with a developing chocolately sweetness. I cheated myself on this brew by not allowing it to warm slightly before sampling it. Allowing this stout to warm slightly gives it a chance to fully develop it’s flavor. The aftertaste is akin to the feeling your tongue gets after drinking 8 espressos, not that that’s a bad thing...

Bottle: Black, tan head, nice lacing. Nose of sweet plum and roast, chocolate and coffee, vanilla and coca. The flavor is sweet and coconuty with nice dry cocoa and resinous chocolate.

Nice coffee stout. Loved the taste of it. Some caramel in it too. Would be another great one for winter time, just sitting around sipping. Could use a little more alcohol.

Rich. Dark. Not my go to stout because when I could get it, there were so many better options. But a nice stout.

Bottle: Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma, sweet chocolate malts, some oats, coffee. Flavor, thin and sweet, oats, chocolate, kinda rough around the edges, roasty. Not my favorite.

Had one of these after work the other night. Nose of sweet cereal, caramel, chocolate covered berries, and figs. Pours black with garnet highlights, the nice cascade resolves into an uber creamy mostly lasting head the color of an apple slice that has been sitting out about 30 minutes, good lace is left behind. The huge malty front has no acidity with a lingering roasted finish. The full, chewy body is lively, the finish is lightly astringent.

Pours black with a fully receding light brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roast malt, and coffee. Tastes of sweet roasted barley, foamy chocolate, plum, raisin, and toffee. Mouthfeel is full bodied with lush, smooth carbonation.
