Black pour, small brown head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Flavor is chocolate, roasted malts, and some coffee. Then an astringent irony taste kills everything in it’s path. Seriously this chalky taste on my tongue sucks and is borderline drain pour.

12 oz. bottle pours a dark brown with some ruby illuminating at the edges. Head is rather spare, tan, but durable with some decent lace. Distinct espresso and dark chocolate, some earthiness and nuttiness in the background. Medium body and carbonation, mild astringency. Burnt sugar and treacle are offset by a piney bitterness. Finishes fairly dry for a sweet stout, but not at all unpleasant.

Chocolate-covered raisins in a bottle. It’s that chewy. It would be good at a movie theater. It was fine in my living room.

A generous amount of roasted malt is evident in the aroma. Dry oats, light coffee, milk chocolate, and moderate banana scents contribute to a very enticing aroma. Dark, very dark brown pour producing a huge slowly diminishing tan head and wavy lacing. Creamy and rather smooth, but the body is slightly lighter than it should be. Nice aftertaste with a bitter finish. Flavor is decent but is not as welcoming as the friendly aroma. Bitter roasted malt, milk sugar and smooth oats. Light chocolate and cream. Pretty tasty but it’s slightly off, perhaps it’s too bitter.

Bottle poured into a pint glass. Pours black with a average size frothy/fizzy light brown head. The head is mostly diminishing with a fair lacing. The aroma is of caramel and roasted malts along with some coffee. The flavor is mostly of coffee along with some caramel malts. The mouthfeel is medium to full with a creamy texture with soft carbonation.

New Holland The Poet poured a nice dark black colored body with a small tan head. The aroma was coffee and chocolate. The taste followed suite with the coffee and chocolate flavors with additional hints of nuts. Overall solid, drinkable, but not as good as others.

Nice and roasty. Hints of coffee and chocolate. Only complaint is its a little sweet. Not terribly thick on the mouthfeel. Theres some hops in there too, which come out better when its warm. Overall its nice.

12 oz bottle. Nice, easy drinking stout. Lots of nice roasty malts, but it was a little watery. Kind of reminded me of Guinness, minus the Nitro pour. That’s a compliment, but I have to admit I was expecting something a little thicker. Pretty good.
