It actually startled me. Very gental pour yielded 1/2 in. beer, 6 in. foam. After 10 minutes and several pours I get a nearly black body with a chocolate brown head. Torrents of carbonation rising from the depths. Aroma slightly sour with light coffee and roasty notes as well as some lactose. Rather light in flavor with some roastiness. Lactic and mineral finish. Very thin with excessive fizzy carbonation. With the excessive foaming, I expected an infection but either it isn’t infected or it’s at a very early stage. So I think that this is an accurate representation of a beer that’s just a thin watery example of a Sweet Stout. dflip (27), USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 4, 2005 Pours black with a cream and brown colored head that did not last. This stout was on the dry irish-style side. I really enjoyed this stout and could taste the coffee undertones more than the chocolate undertones. This is what I look for in a stout. antzman (313), Clarksville, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2005 Bottle. Pours a dark black with a non-existant head with decent lacing on the glass. The aroma is pretty faint... a little chocolate, a hint of coffee. The taste is very smooth. Same hint of coffee with a bit of chocolate. The flavor increases as the beer warms a bit, improving the beer quite a bit. hayden1215 (305), Ohio, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2005 12oz bottle pours black with a tan head that settles quickly back to a film and laces a little down the glass. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and roasted malts. Taste is mostly roasted. Notes of chocolate and coffee also abound. Palate is smooth, mouthcoating and carbonated just about right. Nice roasty aftertaste stays with you for a bit. Also some detectable hops at the end. A nice stout. Malty roasty and delicious. BillyM (149), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
