Commercial Description:
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you'll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

Black brew with thin tan head. Rich and complex aroma of roasted / burnt grain, chocolate, coffee. Flavor is more of the same – rich, complex, grainy, toasted – a real treat. Mouthfeel is surprisingly light but in a very good way. Very drinakable, zesty, and tasty. Good stuff!

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Flavor is roasty chocolate malt with a coffee bitterness, just the right amount of soft sweetness for the style. not bad

Pours opaque, true black into the glass, with a chocolate head that diminishes to a ring down the glass. The nose is nice and sweet, with roasted notes. Roasted malts on the tongue, with bittersweet dark chocolates, following sweet malts upfront. The finish continues with contiguous roasted bitters. The pull is very linear, and is a wonderful sweet stout. Smooth quaff, with decent carbo levels. Excellent choice.

The aroma is toasty with chocolate, coffee, grass, and cream. The appearance is almost black with a smooth tan head. The flavor is like the aroma with a sweet and bitter finish. It has a acidic quality that is not fantastic but it’s still pretty good. The palate is average. Overall it’s decent.

12oz bottle. Darkest brown/black in color with a medium tan head. Roasted malt aroma with coffee, chocolate and some sweetness. Flavor is just a tad sweet up front with chocolate and a coffee finish. Not quite as sweet as I remember, but still very good.
