Commercial Description:
This stout is sheer beer poetry. Let it warm to about 45 F and pour it into a glass to fully experience its rich, roasty flavors and hints of coffee and chocolate. One glass and you'll agree: The Poet is truly a rich, creamy brew of epic proportions.

A very drinkable, light bodied smooth stout that goes down just a little too easily in not quite a good way. It has small amounts of roasted malt and chocolate in fact everything about it is small. A decent brew, but truly just a beginner’s stout.

Strong head and lacing on a dark pour. Solid coffee flavors with a nice balance of bitterness and the maltiness of the stout. Paired very well with the chocolate!

Dark brown with next to no head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, milk sugar and mild coffee. Taste of roasted malt, oatmeal, chocolate and mild coffee. Mild bitter finish. Night Tripper is one of my favorites, and this younger cousin is not far behind and definitely sessionable.

Dark ruby in color with a head that disappeared to quick. Nice roasted aroma. Nice tasting, but the flavor doesn’t linger in the mouth as long as other oatmeal stouts. Very tasty and worth buying again.

pours a deep brown-black color with a creamy light tan head with decent retention and nice lacing. aroma has hints of roasty malt, cocoa, and a touch of coffee. flavor is of light coffee, roastiness, and caramel balanced nicely with subtle hops. very creamy mouthfeel as an oatmeal stout should have. very nice stout.

Taste 2/9 Bottle. Looks: Black and opaque with a nice foam. Aroma: Roasted and toasted malt in the from of coffee and chocolate. Sweetness and freshness. Taste: Smooth mouthfeel from the oatmeal with a balance from the acidity. A little simple but very drinkable for a fan of dark roasts.

Bottle from Beer Geek. Pours near opaque with ruby transparency at the edges under strong light. Large frothy tan head that laces a bit. Aromas of chocolate and coffee. Very light coffee. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is chocolate and oatmeal. Extremely smooth finish. Going very well with Black Forest Cherry gooey cookie!
