Suttree (2265), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Apr 28, 2008 I actually didn’t realize this was a Belgian Style wit until I saw it here. As a regular wheat it seems fine, but it doesn’t seem to have the spicy notes I would usually look for. I know, I know rating to style and all that, but stil...

pforei (313), USA Jul 14, 2008 Bottle from Foodery, Philly. Cloudy straw yellow color with huge head full of dry/dusty smelling yeast. High pitched lemon/citrusy aroma, taste, and finish. One dimensional. Butters (263), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jul 14, 2008 Pours a hazy lemonade yellow with good white head. Pleasant aroma of yeast and lemons. Flavor is a little muddled. Wheaty and cloying on the palate. A hint of hop bittering in the finish. grimreeser (611), Minnesota, USA Jul 10, 2008 Pours a hazy gold with a small head. Aroma is sweet citrus. Nice flavor, sweet. Solid wit. jcr (805), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jul 9, 2008 Bottle. Anemic at best. Little flavor, yet more bitter than most wits. Which is why this should probably be classified as an American wheat, not that that matters because it is not a very good American wheat either. Hazy yellow body with a small white head. The light aroma was grainy with the slightest hint of orange. No spice at all. The flavor was lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture. Bitter finish. Lively carbonation. The flavors just don’t work. Somewhere along the way, the wheels fell off this beer. Aroma - Light honey, spice, lemon in the aroma, anticipating a summer refresher.
Appearance - Hazy yellow, medium head and good lace of small, fine bubbles.
Flavor - Light fruity sweetness that receives sufficient balance from a soft, citrus based bitterness.
Palate - Light body and a moderately lively carbonation that helps clean the palate and adds to a welcome dry finish.
Overall - Refreshing, good balance, not loaded up with flavor and aroma, but this isn’t the style for that. I thought it was better than its ratings suggest.
