New Old Lompoc C-Note

Cask at Horse Brass Pub, Portland, Oregon. A hazy amber beer with a thin bubbly off-white head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of hops and grass. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of grass, leading to a very bitter finish.

On draft. Excellent hop-lover beer; appearance was slightly cloudy, producing an accompanying grassy mouthfeel and strong grainy-filmy taste and finish. I’ll have to go back for this again.

Draft at Uber. Pours deep coppery amber with a light off-white head. Big creosotey resinous nose. Medium attack with active carb. Heavy resins join caramel and light biscuit on the mid-palate. Long, clingy resinous finish--it’s all about the creosotey resin.

Pint (or three)on Draft at the Hedge House, Portland. Deep orange, no head as served, but great lacing and bubbles rising. Aroma was the name of the game, huge apricot, grapefruit and melon aromas. This beer suffered from not having the big malt backing like their LSD. There was malt there but the hops were so huge that they made it quite one dimensional Hard to complain about hops, though, and the hops were clean and citrusy, lemon rind and grapefruity at the finish
