AlabastorJones (627), San Francisco, California, USA Mar 29, 2007 @ the brewery... A strange ale to have on nitro if you ask me, but then again i do enjoy most things that other people call strange, yellow fogged body with a big nitro head, creamy and smooth, malty and pale, hints of fruit with a slightly bitter finish
BückDich (4558), Boise, Idaho, USA Feb 9, 2004 For a barleywine this has tons of head, lots of lacing. Aroma has a perfect balance of hops & malts; fig & raisin. Definitely a beautiful aroma despite the choking levels of smoke in the room. Nice fruity malt flavors, finishes warm & sweet. This barleywine is great for the style but might be a little too low of ABV to be considered one. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Feb 9, 2004 So this is supposed to be like the barleywine, but less I guess. Very dark mahogany color. Taste is malty and rich, although the body could be a little fuller. Kind of mild, but I guess that is appropriate for the style. Acceptable. AxeMaster221 (343), Portland, Oregon, USA Sep 1, 2003 rated 1/27/03 Poured a light brown color, fairly clear, with a long lasting creamy white head due to the nitro tap. Very smooth from start to finish, with no hops evident at all, just a mild malty flavor. Light, creamy, and very drinkable.
