DA (2421), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Sep 1, 2008 On tap at the Hedge House. Pours darker red, soft brown/mahogany hue, smooth off-white head. Sweeter red, warm caramel malt base with a soft fruitiness in the finish. It’s interesting that the red category kinda split off, those who are hoppy and those who refuse to be. I like that they stuck to the traditions and made a good beer that would replace most breweries "ambers". This has more character then the amber ales you find, more rich malt with a balanced finish. stchloe (96), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 1, 2008 Forward the Revolution. What a red ale, hoppier than its capitalist brethren. A little harder to find on tap. Ungstrup (11136), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 21, 2008 Draft. A hazy amber beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet hoppy. The flavor is sweet malty combined with a note of hops, leading to a dry bitter finish. ndubs360 (57), portland, Oregon, USA Jun 20, 2008 Tap at bailys taproom in portland. Pours a deep reddish color with a white head. Tastes of sweet sweet malt. The barrel aging really shined bright in this one. I could not taste much hops in this brew, only malts, sweet malts to be exact. hotstuff (3038), Indiana, USA Feb 1, 2008 Draft at New Old Lompoc Brewery, Portland, OR. Small ivory head that was mostly lasting, virtually no lacing, transparent, no carbonation observed, and a red hue. Nose was malty, caramel, hoppy, and nutty. Flavor was sweet, malty, nutty, and hoppy. Mouthfeel was smooth. Medium body. Quaffable, decent brew.
