Ughsmash (2814), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Jun 13, 2008 Bottled on 12/14/07. Poured slightly hazy medium orange with a short, well-retained cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up sweet, dusty grapefruit along with some pine and peppery notes.. very well balanced and it seemed drier. The flavor had caramel and lesser light fruity sweetness supporting spicy pine and floral bitterness.. grapefruit returned at the end and gave a solid impression on the finish.. very tasty! Medium-bodied on the palate with thicker carbonation.. higher bitterness on the end and a refreshing finish. Very solid brew! blankboy (2487), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 22, 2008 Bottle (12oz) shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev & garthicus -- courtesy of tupalev. Pours a clear orange with an average size diminishing white head. Aroma of mild resiny hops. Flavour of light resiny hops backed by sweet malt and a decent bitter finish. Light bodied. An O.K. Pale Ale. tupalev (2267), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 19, 2008 Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, and Garthicus, my bottle thanks to my father in law. Dark yellow, small white head. Hoppy, butterscotch, bread aroma - interesting mix, unfortunately some age coming through. Good taste - strong hops, malty sweet and bitter. Again, some age creeping in though. Grapefruit in finish. Held up remarkably well for something bottled last November. garthicus (515), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 13, 2008 Thanks Tupalev, his bottle, shared with Harry, Paul and Jeff. Appearance: Light cherry colour, no to small head. Aroma: Toffee, malt, butterscotch. Flavour: Thin, watery yet somehow bitter. A mild hop flavour, bottled 25/10/07 and drank on 13/05/08 not wonderful HogTownHarry (3141), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada May 13, 2008 Bottle (12oz). Shared by tupalev, with blankboy and garthicus. Pale amber, clear, with pretty much no head. Dry aroma, near-burnt grainy malt, hint of dry papery caramel; herbal. Taste is not bad - green-grassy, dry, herbal - ehh. Light body, a little flat, somewhat harsh aftertaste. Maybe a little past its best.
