durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA May 3, 2008 Pour at WBF in Raleigh. Pours amber red, and looks and smells more like an Imperial red ale. Malty, sweet, a little overly so. Hops, too, but not really bitter. Not bad at all, though I agree that I’m not sure why they called it an ESB. emacgee (1859), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Apr 30, 2008 Sampled at the WBF. Pours a copper red with a sweet, caramel, earthy aroma, some alcohol, nice nose. The flavor is waxy, citrusy, earthy, light grapefruit peel, alcohol. Not sure this is an actual ESB
