Commercial Description:
The brewers of New South twist tradition a bit with this uncommon ale. With its pleasant bitterness, sturdy alcohol content and intense hop aromas. This unfiltered copper colored ale is everything an I PA should be. With its dense head and creamy smoothness it is quite unlike any taste you've ever experienced.

Draught at Tyler’s in Durham. Clear yellow color with thick white nitrogenated head. Not much nose suprisingly. Not much hop bitterness or flavor for an IPA, but they’re there in the background. The relative lack of hoppiness and carbonation remind me of the average biiter you might have in England (reminded me of Flowers bitter, for ex). Decent beer. Easy to drink.

Sampled at 2005 Asheville Brewer’s Jam. Nitro pour. Orange gold, thick creamy head. Decent grapefruit aroma, but faint. Juicy citrus hops and a metallic edge. Crisp finish.

Brewgrass 2009 Nitro Light gold with a lasting off-white head. Very light floral hop aroma. Bitter with too little malt balance. Neds a bit more malt and a lot more hops to balance this out.

Got a sample of this at the WBF. Brewer said it was a nitro IPA. Poured and felt that way so I’ll believe him. Pours a copper amber with a creamy offwhite head. The nose was sweet, citrusy, resinous hops. Nice nose. The flavor is a step down though, a bit waxy, subdued flavor, bad aftertaste. The mouthfeel is very creamy.

16oz draft(Liberty Tap Room & Grill) 8/11/08-Had a hazy amber body with a big nitro head. Aroma of a little malt. Taste of malt and not much hops. Not very tasty.

@ Tyler’s taproom Durham 5/31/06. Nitro pour. Ok nose, soft citrus. Clean orangy copper color, Big head and good lace with the nitro. Bitter flavor, grapefruit mainly with that nitro thing. Medium body, thin creamy mouthfeel, bitter dry finish. Don’t know why you’d do an IPA nitro, but not bad
