Commercial Description:
New South's White Ale is an American interpretation of a classic Belgium wheat ale. This light and refreshing ale is brewed with just a hint of a orange zest. Like all of New South's draft ales and lagers, our White Ale is always fresh and satisfying.

I drank this brew with the bartender in Charleston. He explained to me that this White Ale is and american style White. Quite nice and refreshing. I highly recommend a sample or many on our warm days. Thumbs up to New South for their fine fresh lagers and ales.

Tap. Nice typical witbier aromas - orange, banana, clove, wheat malt. Cloudy yellow-brown color with small head. Light sweet orange/peach malt flavor. A bit light. Overall, a nice beer.

Sampled at the WBF. The pour was a pale hazy yellow with a white head. The aroma was a tad sweet, very citrusy, lemon, sour. The flavor had similar elements, a tad grainy, and some cornish flavors. the flavor is a let down from the aroma.

On tap at the Liberty Taproom and Grill in Mt Pleasant SC. This brew poured a golden color with little head - really didn’t look too much like a white ale. Aroma of citrus, hops and wheat. Taste was also didn’t compare to a typical white ale - a little flatter in my opinion. Was clean and crisp and still a decent beer to drink on a hot day but not much else memorable about it.

22oz draft at Dick’s Last Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC. Pours golden with a short white head that lingers but laces very little. Aroma is of wheat, yeast, and a touch of lemon. Flavor is much the same with a bit of spice, corriander I believe. Palate is light and carbonated pretty well. Not bad but nothing outstanding.

Cloudy pale yellow, no head. Very faint aroma - some wheat notes, some armpit notes - wait, scratch that, that’s me I’m smelling there. Anyway, Nice aroma, just not much of it. Clean and crisp, some peppery notes, some wheat flavor, but not a lot of fruitiness. Sampled at WBF Raleigh.

Draft - Hazy gold, thin white fizzy head. Soft coriander and orange zest nose with just a hint of earthed wheat. Citric spice flavors balance on a light nutty earth and yeasty-like backbone. Light bodied and thin, medium carbonation, soft spiced finish. Decent for sessions on a 100 degree beach day, but nothing special to seek out...
