Bottle, Label says: best before 30-4-09, so it’s a half year outdated. But taste is good. Redbrown colour, almost no head, only a bit of something like foam. Aroma is malty with caramel. In the flavor is candy, palate of bitterness of the hops, refreshening. Finish is OK.

brownish amber color, descent head and light amount of lacing. nice mild aroma, light carbonation. medium body, light to medium roasted malt flavor, almost no hops at all, and a bit watery. Overall its ok, but really its like the lamest brown ale Ive had.

I ordered this at a place that didn’t have anything resembling a decent beer list, but I was getting hot wings, and I’ve got to have some kind of (any kind of) beer with my hot wings. I remembered that I used to enjoy Newcastle Brown Ale in my pre-craft beer drinking days, so I thought I’d give it another shot. Well, it was too light and thin for a brown ale to begin with, but I took a sip anyway, Seriously, I could have been drinking club soda. There is almost no flavor at all. You expect this sort of thing from mass-marketed lagers, but even some of them have more complexity than this. The only reason I gave it any points at all was because at least it didn’t taste bad. It just didn’t taste like anything. Plus, it was cold and wet and that’s what I needed to wash those hot wings down.

This beer is pure marketing. Very bland inexpensive beer that I would choose when I’m thinking about light beers. Michelob Ultra Amber comes to mind, however, it is marketed appropriately.

decent everyday ale. standard brown ale. pours well, quickly settles and has a small thinn head. not a full bodied ale at all. finishes dry and doesn’t linger. has a nutty aroma and is easy to drink.

A beer that never fails, but it never wins either. A good, safe bet, ol’ reliable.
