I remember cquiroga liking this better than I did, thinking it might even be better than the Relapse (which uses it as a base beer). I disagreed; I found this even more disappointing than the Relapse. Not much on the aroma. Vaguely hoppy flavor on a fully, syrupy body, with a weak citrus finish that again reminds of hops amid all the syrupy sugars. Seems like a lot of this went unfermented. Still, not offensive to drink, and packs a punch. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA

Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and an astringent finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness and bitterness, light acidity. jimbowood (953), Athens, Georgia, USA

Big, rich aroma and taste of rich malts and candy sugar. Served on tap in a sifter glass at the brewery. A little hot alcohol, but otherwise really smooth and flavorful. Worth trying again! iowaherkeye (1854), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 18, 2007 On tap at the brewpub. Clear honey with a one finger thick eggshell head. Aroma of bananas, candy sugar, mild grain, light peaches, and brown sugar. Flavor was strawberries, peaches, ETOH, soy, Belgian yeast, and candy sugar. ETOH burn is moderate and has a dry finish, and some light grain is also noted then. Bitterness is a 3 on a 1-10 scale. Full body with moderate carbonation. Pretty decent quad.
