| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 29, 2006 I had this on draft at NBBC. BTW, they’vve renamed it to "Dead Cowboy Imperial Stout", a much better name IMO.
It pours black with a two finger tan head and has a nice aroma of chocolate and coffee. The mouthfeel is very creamy and smooth. The flavors are of chocolate, coffee w/ a nice sweet feel. Very good. jimhilt (1691), Bow, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 15, 2005 GABF 2005: Nearly opaque with a thin tan head and some lace. The aroma has notes of chocolate, toffee, molasses, vanilla, woody, and earthy yeast esters. The taste is sweet and mocha overtone with a light molasses twang and coffee bitterness on the finish. The feel is creamy even if a bit thin. A warming finish, I wrote down "what is the ABV of this" and surprised to find out it is only 8.5%. Some nice complexity but seem not to put it all together. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 10, 2005 Yellow-to-brown head covers the darkest brown glow. Aromas are quite straightforward, limited mostly to cocoa and coffee with a whisper of floral hops. Foamy palate is oatmealish and highly alcoholic. Very hot in mouth, it seems to focus more on its ABV than actual malt flavours. A bit raw and aggressive. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
