| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 21, 2005 (Draft: Newport Beach Brewing Company in Newport Beach, CA) This is beer number 3 at this place, and this beer is better than the first two I tried. It couldn’t possibly get worse. This has a fairly light hops flavor, a bit citrusy, only mildly bitter for an IPA, but there’s so little maltiness that the hops jumps out. Mild sweetness. Lightly hoppy and mildly sweet nose. Clean, crisp palate, light to medium in body. Light golden color. Small white head fades quickly to a spotty film. Decidedly average for an IPA. Next! This is a nicely done APA. It hits you with a great hoppy aroma, and backs it up with a good flavor. This was very solid. alexanderj (2284), Chino Hills, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 19, 2009 On tap at NBBC. The best pale ale I have had in a while. Color was dark gold with an off white head. Aroma was nice with a good amount of citrus and flowers. Flavor was nicely balanced with flowers and citrus again in the finish. Nicely hopped for the style, and the dry hopping was not that pronounced. Sessionable and good. AmEricanbrew (2000), Almost, Texas, USA
