Nose is moderately oxidized, with plum vodka and old, overripe fruit and tobacco scents all over. Some dark smoky vanilla scents as well. Smells good. Ripe tobacco and plum flavored liquer tasted... stinging and sharp at times, all from the alcohol... any hops in there are pretty much faded by now... dry and woody but not bitter or puckery. Like an Old Ale now. Good stuff. kmweaver (2501), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a medium-dark, reddish amber color; light-tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Lots of caramel and maple syrup in the aroma. Full, chewy caramel mouthfeel: pleasant oxidation, with some vanilla and toasty character. Light hop presence, well-integrated at this point into a full, malty sweetness; some candy sugar and buckets of caramel. Length, caramel and chewy citrus finish. This beer has been aged for 6 years, 1 in the brewery and 5 elsewhere. Pours a nice dark brown colour. The aroma was dark fruits and malty. Being a completely different and complex taste. Taste was sweet, malty, toffee and little bit of caramel. Drink4Satan (586), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 21, 2007 Had this one after it had been aged for 6 years. Pours an ultra-hazy apricot with a thin biege head. When held to the light, a dark, thick cloud can be seen suspended in the center of the liquid. Smells of apricot, peach, dark pitted fruit, and booze. The taste is entirely different, and unbelievably complex. From the initial taste to the after taste, almost no alcohol is detectable. The mouthfeel is so slick and pleasant and the carbonation is among the smoothest I’ve ever had. Definately full-bodied. Tastes of a variety of hops, most notably cascade. The fruit flavours include apricot, plum, and other pitted fruits. One of my all time favorites. Incredibly unique and good. emerica56 (587), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA

They did a good job hiding the booze in this even though it was a high alcohol brew. but over all this beer is amazing TheBeerGod (3177), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 2, 2007 Bottle. Courtesy of desurfer, known then as risurfer. Thanks Todd! Cloudy amber pour. Small foamy tan head. Nose is flat hops, caramel, sweet malts, light alcohol, honey and rum-soaked fruits. Malty and sweet flavor, sticky caramel, ripe fruits, citrus, light alcohol, and cake (sort of a cross between rum cake and angel food or bunt cake with an orange glazing). Body is sort of thin, but slick with light alcohol and a faint tingly carbonation. Finishes with sticky malts, caramel, flat hops, fruits and lighter cake notes. Nice! The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with a touch of smokiness, slight alcohol esters and a little piney hops. The flavor is sweet and malty with a slight candy sugar and toffee note. Pours out a deep brown with not much of a head. Aroma is of some dried fruit and malts. Taste is very well balanced with notes of plum, apple and some sweet caramel notes. The finish is suprisingly bitter with a few notes of citrus hops I can taste that 100IBU’s they claim on the finish. I liked this beer a lot for this style
