Brown ruby pour, small pale tan head. Peppery, sweet raw nut, floral notes. Uneven, oily palate. Not much besides alcohol and bittering hops. Weird and funky feeling. Rough...Salty, rocky, no depth, no balance.

Pours dark red with a small head. Slightly oily. I was expecting a heavier malty beer. What I got instead was an attempt at an original beer that had strong hints of citrus, oranges and sugar. This brewer probably threw random ingredients into a vat then tested what came out, but in this situation, the 1000+ bottles churned out something tasty that I will be sampling (and possibly rerating) in the weeks to come. This one still hasn’t grown on me but it also hasn’t deterred me and has kept me interested enough to come back for more.

bottle...brown pour with a minimal tan head. Strange aroma, acidic. Alcohol is prominent in this brew. Some sugary nutty undertones, but alcohol takes the show. This is strange for a brew that has 7.9% ABV, but I guess that talks volumes about the balance. Very sugary to finish, almost like eating raw sugar. Mouthfeel is thin and uneven.

12 oz bottle mused over by MartinT, tiggmtl, Rastacouere, ClarkVV and yours truly...walnut color, clear with a weak touch of head...sulfury/salty acidic & vinous nose is simply terrible...off?...typical brown-ale type character in the body, somewhat nutty but thin and too alcoholic...bitter, brackish finish. No.

2005 bottle from DYCSoccer17, thanks Casey! Shared at the 3/6/05 Montreal tasting. Aroma of brown sugar soaked in vinegar, spoiled grape pulp, sour yeast. Appearance is a clear, weak olive-brown with a fleeting dark beige head. Flavor has strange chemical/solvent notes, some butter, raisins and sourish/sweet light soy flavors. Brown sugar is faint, alcohol peaks through. Body is medium-light with an artificial fizziness. Not many good things to say about this one, but I will say that it’s hard to believe they would produce a new beer this bad, so I will try another bottle in hopes of it being better.

Egg-like, cabbagey and sulfury aroma is very unappealing. Ruby coloured body with thin ring of tan head. Sweet, thin and cabbagey flavour with low carbonation. I’m not sure what the intent is for this beer, but I know it’s not for me. Bottle sampled with ClarkVV, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Rastacouere.

The Lure:
Light caramel on toasty dryness, scared of the roaming sulphur.

The Festivities:
Bitter malt roastiness and hazelnuts feel abandoned by the dreadfully thin body. I admit I was expecting more.

Transcendence:
Vacuuming the carpet is not my favorite activity.

Bottle. Aroma is very grainy. Smells almost like corn in a way. Mild musty belgian yeast smells are also present. Kind of weird. There are some roasty caramel notes present as it warms some, which saves the aroma a bit. Mostly transparent mahogany color with a small light tan head around the edges. Start is mildly sweet turing quite astringent and sour. Finishes with roasty smoked maltiness and caramel tones. Tons of alcohol and way too thin.
