12oz bottle acquired in trade with ppoitras (thanks!). Poured a medium reddish-brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, cocoa, some dark fruits, roast and a little nutty. Tastes of caramel, prunes, raisins (lots of prunes and raisins), and brown sugar. Definitely on the sweet side. Alcohol content hidden.

Clear medium brown pour topped by a shy white ring. DMS influenced, heavily vegetal nose, otherwise offering mostly a caramelized biscuity malts, dividing into earthy territories briefly while alcohol takes a considerable part in the flavour profile. Just as vegetal in mouth, a faint roastiness reminds of ashes and moves into obvious chalkiness in the finish. Light bodied, soft carbonation, airy palate. Going nowhere and not too well.

Pours a clear dark copper mahogany with a thin off-white head. Toasty sweet dark malty aroma has a touch of burnt character. Body starts with lots of sweet sticky dark caramel malt revealing a hint of bitter roasted malt and some bready cookie dough lager yeast flavor before a warming finish.

The Lure:
Caramel and roasted malt surround the black beans. Brown sugar is exposed through the malt, as fruitiness escapes the yeast. Smells authentic, but cannnot rouse any interest, save for the lingering head.

The Festivities:
A quiet mouthfeel is laid by the low carbonation level. Sweet caramel malts are introduced to a roasted finish, but they don’t exactly fall in love. All are there doing their job, but few are interested.

Transcendence:
Another lunch meeting.

Pours brown with a thick head. Smells of cane sugar, caramel, grapes and apples. Tastes of flowers and on the tarte side. Watery finish.

Bottle ala SecretSanta. Clear dark copper color with a taller dry bone colored head. From the first sniff something seems amiss. Sour cherries and granny-smith apples mingle with sweet caramel and toasted wheat bread. Acetaldehyde seem to be in place. Sweetness sweeps through the mouth and the second before the swallow, alcohol rushes through the nose. The chocolate malts seem to present the most flavors, that together with the alcohol seem nearly burnt. The edginess of this one fades as it sets in the glass. This one seems to need some time to breath and be free of the bottle before being sampled. The volatiles are wicked and need time to be ushered out of the pour. A good 7 minute pour does wonder for this one. Dark fruit stewed in kirchwasser seems to fit the bill. Still a touch too wild, but a little tweak and this would be great.
