Nice deep garnet color with a moderate to large tan head. Green raisins, dates, roasted malt and possibly some Pac NW hops in there. Very nice, complex aroma. Flavors match, with dark fruits and deep malty flavors (molassas) up front. Background hops, very long finish. Very enjoyable.

Bottle. Dark copper-ruby body with minimal tan froth floating aimlessly on the surface. Aroma is rich dark malts, light alcohol, caramel, and hints of chocolate. Taste is big alcohol, caramel, dark chocolate, roasty malts, raisins, and almost some thinned grassy notes. Body is medium with lots of alcohol warmth and mild carbonation feel. Finishes with more alcohol, roasty malts, brown sugar, caramel, light hints of dark chocolate and more thinned grassiness. In a nutshell, it’s a big suped up bock.

Bottle. Clear brown-red body. Raisin, wheaties, and port-like alcohol in the aroma. Dry, sweet flavor again with the port-like alcohol. Big cherry/plum presence. The mouthfeel is a bit average for the strength of flavor. Still a big satisfying bock.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with ppoitras (thanks!). Poured a medium reddish-brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of caramel, cocoa, some dark fruits, roast and a little nutty. Tastes of caramel, prunes, raisins (lots of prunes and raisins), and brown sugar. Definitely on the sweet side. Alcohol content hidden.

Pours brown with a thick head. Smells of cane sugar, caramel, grapes and apples. Tastes of flowers and on the tarte side. Watery finish.

(Bottle from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/massachusetts/w target=blank>Julio’s Liquors) Pours a dark honey brown with a soft biscuit head. Aroma is sourish and yeasty. Sloppy weepy lacing. Mouthfeel fairly smooth, kind of syrupy. Flavor is a sharp, syrupy brown sugar malt sweetness. Some alcohol burn. Has kind of a raw feel to it. Syrupy, sweet, lots of alcohol.

Bottle, from Julio’s. Ok nose, sweet. Tootsie roll kinda chocolate, lite fruit, cherry, apple, grape. Clean reddish brown color, small to no head. Sweet flavors, like aromas. Chocolate, caramel, fruit. ABV shows itself. Medium body, creamy syrupy mouthfeel, sweet dry finish. Has bite. Tasty Bock. Nice to see it finally show up in Mass.

Pours a clear dark copper mahogany with a thin off-white head. Toasty sweet dark malty aroma has a touch of burnt character. Body starts with lots of sweet sticky dark caramel malt revealing a hint of bitter roasted malt and some bready cookie dough lager yeast flavor before a warming finish.
