12 oz. bottle. Pours an opaque black with a moderate, frothy, tan head that left heaving lacing down the entire glass. Pleasant aroma of malt and caramel with maybe a hint of chocolate. Flavor is malt and caramel again with a touch of chocolate. The malt flavor reminds me more of ovaltine and is not heavily toasted, which I enjoyed in this beer. Medium bodied. Good stuff.

Bottle. Got this on a tripe back to RI. I miss the guys at Newport storm. Pours a nice black color with a very solid tan head. Smell is of coffee and chocolate malt. Very well balanced body. A good balance of body and flavor. Sweet finish with hints of coffee.

12-oz. Thanks, BitBucket! Pours perfectly opaque adamntine black with a thick, moussy, bubbly tan head. Gorgeous, if not quite exceptional. Nice chocolate and maybe a hint of black licorice on the nose. Medium body, hides the booze well, some tingly carb. Decent mid-palate; roasty and sweet chocolate and then there’s a tidy little finish with a touch of spicy hop. Not a beer to write home about, not even a beer to txt home about. But it’s well-crafted and I’d probably drink more than my share if it were local.

12 oz bottle. Black with a tight tan head. Roasty malt and dark chocolate nose, some charcoal and fruity notes. Smooth, fairly full body. Smooth semisweet chocolate flavors, a bit of charcoal, earthy. Some coffee in the finish, but it fades quickly. Pretty good.

Bottle courtesy of OldGrowth sampled on 1/10/07: Pours an almost opaque dark blackish brown with a nicely-lacing tan head. Aroma of sweet, lightly toasty caramel malts, a touch of cardboard and earthy hops. Body starts sweet and caramely with nice dark chocolate notes toward a more bittersweet finish. A pretty decent imperial stout.

Pours brown with a tannish head. Smells of coffee, nuts and chocolate with some caramel hints. Taste is of cocoa, lots of spices and some strange perfumy elements. Finish is on the malty side with some peppery splashes.

12oz - thanks clarkVV - Aroma of roasted dark malts, cream, maple syrup and something fruity. Pours black with a huge brown head and great lacing. Flavor is roasty but plain. Cherry and grape?? Palate is sweet and sticky. I don’t know about "extreme", but tasty anyway.
