12 oz bottle served around cellar temperature in a Corsendonk glass and accompanied by Grafton smoked cheddar and corn chips....reddish translucence showing through near-black darkness with a smallish creamy dark head that coats the glass thinly but smoothly as it recedes...nose at first chocolaty, quickly ebbing into grapy-sherry-like character, slightly oxidized it seems despite its newness, some caramel and as it warms, dog shit....body is tarry, bitter chocolate with low-to-moderate sweetness, hints of sulphury molasses, sweetness fades almost completely to the dry, bitter, espresso-tinged finish...thick and rather gritty mouthfeel, low carbonation....pretty so-so.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Boboski. Aroma is somewhat mild and features chocolate, cocoa, coffee and a bit of baltic porteresque fermented dark fruit alcohol. Body is flat black and holds a firm, creamy thumb thick tan head. Very light flavor wise...some mild roasted elelments with a bit of almond nuttiness and creamy coffee. This is sort of a huge porter more than an Impy ad it even has some of that toasty (versus burnt roasted) flavor to it. The thing is it is good, if narrow, it just isn’t right for the style.

Very dark brown pour with a mocha head. Smells of coffee, chocolate, and almond extract perhaps? not too thick-very drinkable. Has some taste of fig as well as chocolate, coffee and smoke. Not much hop presence or bitterness. Very strong-one or two is plenty! Really tasty.

Black in colour, thin tan coloured head, no retention, light lacing. The aroma is of vanilla, dark chocolate, light roast, some light burnt notes, some smoke. The flavour is light fir an imperial stout, some light coffee, sweet chocolate, malty, light roast, some molasses, vanilla. Dry mouthfeel, medium body, high carbonation. Finishes long, chalky, small roast. No noticable alcohol, a light imperial stout that has lots of flavour.

355ml bottle obtained in a trade with <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?U target=blank>OldGrowth, thanks Tom. No Best Before date.

12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a large sized tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, cocoa, vanilla, and a light earthiness. Tastes of cocoa, light vanilla, roast, and a light coffee bitter finish. Boday a tad on the thin side with a light alcohol finish. Althought there’s nothing really wrong with this beer, it was quite drinkable, I personally prefer my Imperial Stouts to be a little more complex (in aromas and tastes).

Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours dark with a 11/2 finger thick cola colored head. Aroma of roasted malts, slightly nutty, ands vanilla. The flavor is smooth, nutty, roast, no traces of hops what so ever. Good beer, more like a brown ale.

Inky black body with a thin ring of mocha-colored head. Aroma is roasty and alcoholic. Flavor is mostly roasted coffee and chocolate with few hops. Alcohol is fairly noticeable. Not bad.
