Pours a four finger light tan head that fades slowly leaving a good sticky lace. Deep mahogany almost black color. Light carbonation and medium-heavy bodied. Roasted coffee nose. Flavor is sweet roasted coffee with a good hop backbone. Decent stout. $1.50 for a 12oz bottle from Liquid Solutions Oregon City, Or.

Brown sugar. Grainy. Pretty hot and boozy for only 8.7%. Creamy, but slightly over carbonated. A little hint of raisin and plum. Some definite grassy hops with some pineapple. Pretty good hoppy finish. A whole lot of roasty coffee. A little nutty flavor, possibly hazelnut like. Good round chewy mouthfeel. Lingering bitterness in the back. Pretty much everything is in line here. Great complexity. The only negative is that the flavors don’t all fit together quite right. Perhaps some time to blend is all that this needs to be a great beer.

12 oz. bottle. Pours an opaque black with a moderate, frothy, tan head that left heaving lacing down the entire glass. Pleasant aroma of malt and caramel with maybe a hint of chocolate. Flavor is malt and caramel again with a touch of chocolate. The malt flavor reminds me more of ovaltine and is not heavily toasted, which I enjoyed in this beer. Medium bodied. Good stuff.

Very dark brown pour with a mocha head. Smells of coffee, chocolate, and almond extract perhaps? not too thick-very drinkable. Has some taste of fig as well as chocolate, coffee and smoke. Not much hop presence or bitterness. Very strong-one or two is plenty! Really tasty.

Pours darkest brown, dark tan head...sweet brown sugar aromas mingled with mocha, almost cappuccino-like....sweet alcohol present as well...taste---baking chocolate cocoa......medium to full palate...hearty yet silky with a bite of bitterness, a lot to take in...defiantly a sipper

Bottle courtesy of OldGrowth sampled on 1/10/07: Pours an almost opaque dark blackish brown with a nicely-lacing tan head. Aroma of sweet, lightly toasty caramel malts, a touch of cardboard and earthy hops. Body starts sweet and caramely with nice dark chocolate notes toward a more bittersweet finish. A pretty decent imperial stout.
