Poured a deeper and slightly hazy orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of bananas, cloves, yeast, lightly fruity with some tart cherries. Tastes of caramel, spices, fruity, and light yeast. Alcohol content well hidden. hopscotch (5525), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Jun 28, 2008 Bottle... Thinkin’ ‘Bout Thirteen Hours O’ Drinkin’ (tew man wrecking crew)... Hazy amber ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is a nightmarish morphing of honey, pickled olives and vinegar with dark and fuzzy fruit sweetness. Full-bodied with nearly expired carbonation. Cloyingly sweet and acetic... a very bad marriage. Toffee, honey, molasses, raisins and prune blended with pickled cucumbers and pickled Kalamata olives. Finishes sickingly sweet. We thought our bottle was spoiled, until we read the other ratings which pretty much described our experience. How anyone could enjoy this mess of a beer is beyond me. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 6, 2007 Pours amber with a thin ring of white bubbles. Smells of strawberries, cherries and some doughy elements. Taste is spicy and fruity with some pilsner hints on the finish. Decent for what it is. BBB63 (4267), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Bottle fro beerbill and served in my NB worthy glass: Slightly hazed coppery hue with a fading frothy and and some lace. The aroma has an interesting dill pickle and vinegar vapour at first which slowly dissipates over layers of red fruits (strawberry and raspberry) along with some vanilla bean, caramelized sugars, green grass, wheat husk, and major yeast esters from start to finish.
The taste has an initial acidic bite and fruity undertone over which a blanket of wet grains becomes noticeable. The finish is dryer with toasty malt and mineral. The after taste has an lasting fruit juice twang about it. Some parts of this is interesting but then some of it is muddled and lacks focus. Not sure what was the goal here... | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 20, 2007 Bottle thanks to jjpm74! Poured coppery-amber with a swirly dusting of off-white head and a loose ring. The aroma was chock full of spices (pepper and clove primarily) with cherry sweetness and tartness.. pears and apples too. The flavor had apple and cherry skin tartness with white pepper and cloves.. fruity sweetness built up as it warmed, becoming cloying at the back-end. Medium-bodied.. bit slick at the front, tangy tartness across the middle, and cloying sweetness at the back.. didn’t flow very well. Decent brew. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 10, 2007 Bottle drunk on 6/22/07 Encouraging appearance shows a large, densely-formed light-tan head that cascades in to a deep peach-bronze body, with medium clarity (despite a careful pour). Lacing is moderate, and retention is strong. Sweeter, American ale yeast-like esters show lots of red fruits giving a notion of strawberry jam, apricot tarts and with more of the expected peach and banana coming through on the end. Not overdone with clove, and actually quite apparent is the pils malt, giving off notes of vanilla and honey which help to sooth the abundant esters. Decidedly American, with the esters being very up front and no real depth or interesting/unusual aspects in the yeast department. But that’s not to say it’s done poorly, and it’s the first one in this series that I didnt detect DMS. Alcohol dries out the finish somewhat, with light breadiness and caramel making a minor appearance. Sweet, but well-balanced flavor contains tons of peaches, apricots and bananas up front. Toasty malt character enlivens things further, adding some dryness and bittersweet character. Surprisingly soft mouthfeel, thanks to them actually leaving some yeast in the bottle for a change. Carbonation is very low, but fairly tight. Loses some steam with warming and some sloppy sugars build up, with too much peachy stickiness and some thinning as well. Alcohol noteable but not overdone. Phenols are relatively light, with white pepper lying underneath and adding to the dryness. Not overhopped either. Pretty standard, American rendition. IrishBoy (2719), Bakersfield, California, USA

Alcohol completely covered making it quite drinkable. Wish I had more than one!
