Commercial Description:
Henry is an 7.6% abv Munich Dark Ale. With over 75% of the malted barley in this beer being of the Munich Malt variety, the body and flavor of this beer are unmistakable. The full bodied and malty sweet backbone is married to plentiful amounts of roasted malt to give this pitch black ale balance.A variety of German hops are used to add further balance to this unique version of the style.

12 oz. bottle with thanks to my brother Robert for shipping it down for me. Pours a very dark brown with a thin-to-moderate creamy tan head that fades to film after several sips. There are clear ruby highlights when held against sunlight. Pleasant aroma of molasses, caramel and dates. There is a bit less molasses and more caramel in the flavor than the aroma suggests with some light hops bitterness at the finish. This is one of the better offerings I have had from this brewer. Good stuff.

Gotta support the local brewery. Pours a deep chestnut brown with ruby edges and a small, creamy tan head. The nose is characterized by buttery, biscuity notes and dark brown sugar. Rich flavours of molasses, brown sugar, grahm cracker and earthy caramel overtake my senses. There is a perfect presence of hops in the finish to round out the profile and establish a balance. It is sweet, but not cloyingly so, and the finish is dry and slightly sticky. The palate is a bit watery, but the carbonation is well suited for the body. This is one of the better cyclone series I’ve had, but is nothing like any american strong ale I’ve encountered.

If only this dark ale had more of a head it would be perfect. The color is a dark brown with some laceing along the side walls of the glass. The nose is very earthy and robust with that bready and buttery malt. As you drink it all of the earth notes really pop on your tounge. I personally like the caramel film that is left on your palate after you take a sip. There is also that nice bitterness from the hops each time you take a sip. Overall it is a decent american strong but there are far better ones out there.

bottle poured a nutty red brown color with a big thick two finger head that left a fat pillow on the top. carbonation is low and the glass was coated with foam as it was drank. aroma has lightly roasted malt, earth, dark chocolate, and brown sugar sweetness. mouth feel is medium light with some syrupy coating. flavor has smoked malt, over ripe dark fruit, caramel, and a touch of sourness. slightly off the beaten path with this brewer making for an interesting surprise.

Pours a hazy ruby brown color with a small offwhite head. Nose is mild with hints of cocoa and roasted malts. Initial mouth feel is light bodied with touch syrup texture. Initial taste of roasted malts, cream, mollasses and cocoa. Mid palate of mild fruits. Finishing with roasted and balancing hop palate that is above average. A very simple american strong ale. Easy drinking, alcohol is well masked. Good session beer. Minor head retention.

Poured a clear deep ruby color with a small off-white head. The aroma was roasty with some cocoa and some sweetness. Hint of smoky ash. Toast roast flavor with some notes of cola. Light to medium bodied with a semi-dry finish.

Bottle received via trade with AllDayDrinker. Pours dark brown with a small, fizzy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel, nutty), light hops (herbs), average yeast (leather, earth) with notes of plum, dates, and brown sugar. Medium bodied, oily texture, soft carbonation, and a metallic finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.
