Drak orange/Amber color with a slight haze.
Smells of caramel, toffee, citrus and pine.
Taste is malty with cramel being the strongest note, though some biscuit/bready flavor comes through as well. Hop flavor is citrusy with both grapefruit and orange; Finishes with hintys of pine that linger on the tongue.
Crabonation is medium and matches well, helping to bring out the sweet malt and hop bouquet.
Alcohol definately comes through in the end, but for a 9% ABV it is too be expected and is not overwhelming.
I tried this after really liking the newest Cyclone James. I am just as impressed with Isabel.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2008 12oz bottle acquired in trade with beerbill (and an extra from my wants list to boot - thanks!). Poured a medium and hazy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of citrus, floral, some caramel, and just nice and hoppy. Tastes of citrus, caramel, some spices, and had a lighter floralness. Alcohol content well hidden. Had a nice balance to it too (with the hops heavier in the aromas). Some lacing left on the glass. I liked this one! Cletus (5060), Connecticut, USA

Tastes bitter with a nice compliment of spice, resin, sage and citrus. Enjoyable. Boutip (2404), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 4, 2009 Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy amber color ale with a quite large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of grassy bitter hops with deep malt backbone. Taste is a balanced mix between some grassy hops with some clear bitter notes and a huge malt backbone that is quite dry. Body is full with minimal filtration and good carbonation with no signs of the alcohol. Very well done and definitely better then expected. yobdoog (1543), Woodridge NY, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 9, 2009 Poured ruby amber with a nice fluffy head. Aroma a dark fruit, caramel and that Nugget aroma. Taste is sweet with full body hop finish. Reminds me of a balanced DIPA but with a little more nutty and sweet taste. hopson (596), Williamsville, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 11, 2008 gift from my buddy steve. A well done american strong ale. The drinkability here is very high considering the 9 percent abv. Hops are present, but not as bright as one would hope (both in terms of flavor and aroma). More malt dominant. emerica56 (587), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 10, 2008 Pours a cloudy amber color with a thin head and some laceing along the sides of the glass. The nose is very floral and full of citrus and grapefruit hops with some hints of honey and spice as well, mainly corrieander. The flavor is nice and robust with a biter bite initially and has a good balance of flavor and carbonation. The flavor also has a nice gritty like texture on the palate. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Pours a dark amber color with a small foamy off white head. Nose is sweet, fruits, caramel and earthy hops. Initial taste displays lots caramel and red berry. Mid palate displays more resiny hop characteristics and toffee. Finishing slightly nutty with continuing caramel and resin bitter. Alcohol is very nicely masked and extremely drinkable for a 9% brew. Good head retention and palate duration. Overall enjoyable!
