Bottle. Pours a dark brown with thin tan head. Aroma is carame, dark fruit, malt, and chocolate. The flavor was about the same, but a hoppy bitterness came out in the finish. This is pretty good beer. Thanks to the guys in front of me at DLD for hooking me up.

Bottle. Nice beer! Pours brown wtih a medium sized beige head. Aroma has some sweet notes wtih caramel, hops, biscuit and some smoke for sure. Flavor has some really nice smoked malts, some caramel malts and a good hop balance. Good beer. I would drink this again in a heartbeat!

Clear light brown pour covered by a moderate off-white head. Timid aroma does not quite reach out towards the caramelly and fruity riches of this world, but rather remains among easier toasty, relatively dry and quite nutty flavours. Almost roasty in character, its maltiness is never slick, nor chewy. Pertaining a timid leafy bitterness that seems amplified by the globally dry nature of the beer. Certainly not a typical all-in sweet scotch ale. Light-medium body. Fairly drinkable with its lighter than most body and soft carbonation, but not too captivating.

Pours with a brown body topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet with some roast and a little bitterness. Medium bodied and highly carbonated with a touch of dryness.

bottle poured a garnet red color with a thick light tan head that retained very well. aroma has caramel malt, toast, nuts, and mild roasted chocolate. mouth feel is on the lighter side and the carbonation is low. flavor has a toasted malt base, burnt caramel, and some light wood. mid range bitterness comes through later and it becomes more creamy. the alcohol is totally concealed, this is another solid newport brew.

Bought a fresh six pack once available. 12 oz bottle. Slightly cloudy brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of caramel and faint burned nuts. Taste is dominated by malt with a nice smokey finish, but as one reviewer already stated, its not overpowering. Impressed since some of the small batch series are hit or miss.

newest cyclone series from newport storm. poured out of a bottle into a standard pint glass. thick head with tight bubbles that lingered long enough. left some lacing on the glass. medium to dark brown in color with some ruby notes to it. Smells of raisins, caramel, toasted bread and peat. Taste is of dark fruits and caramel with a very pleasant smokiness. There is a mild hop bitterness that follows the strong malt flavors, which helps to balance the overal beer. (The aroma and maltiness becomes even stronger as this beer wramed in my glass). I enjoyed this very much and certainly is a malty, strong beer, that has a pleasant and not overpowerimg smokiness.

Pours a dark brownish black with a thin head. The aroma is smokey with some hints of oak and a roasted malt blended with floral hops. It has a nice texture on the palate as you take your first sip, it has an initial hop bite with smokey roasted finish. The booze is not that well masked in this particular cyclone. The carbonation is nicely done which is an impressive plus compared to the 07. Overall it is a great scotch ale with good flavor and a nice blend or spice and hops.
