Commercial Description:
Hurricane Amber Ale is a full flavored beer which clearly has more taste than other domestic and imported light beers while at the same time does not overpower the drinker with heavy body or excessive bitterness.

Hazy amber body with big off-white head. Aroma is floral, earthy, some spiced sweetness. Taste is floral, caramel, medium sweet, some spice. Hops are present, but not very bitter. Light-medium body. Easy-to-drink beer, but nothing I'd seek out.

Golden amber body, little head. Aroma is light, a little bit of hops and malt. Flavor is mildly hoppy and resiny with a sweet malty character. Nothing special really.

Color is a hazy dark honeyish gold. Tall, beyond ridiculously high light tan head that took three separate pours from a 12 oz. long neck. And I wasn't even pouring it fast. Yikes. Took forever to settle, but finally resorted to a thick fluffy skim always present, lace in sticky sheets and strings that fade after a bit. Smell is a whole lotta dry stuff; leaves, wood, hops, malts. everything coming across super dry and toasty. Taste is a bit different, but not by much, quite smooth with a mild dry hop bite, toasted malts, notes of dry wood and nutskins. finishes dry and crisp. Feel is light to medium bodied with a few thin areas and a touch of astringent texture in the swallow. Gets better as it warms. Not a bad session brew, the warmer the better with this one.

Deep copper-red color with a nice thick head out of the bottle. Very well balanced flavor. Nice and drinkable, but a little less than I had expected.

Served on draught at the Brick Alley Pub in Newport. Light amber with dense thin white head. Very light body and almost like a light beer. Very slight lacing. A subtle pale malt aroma but very little flavor. High carbonation gives it a sharp mouthfeel.

This one had a nice clear bittersweet color with a short thick head that decided to stick around for awhile. Mild fruity/hoppy aroma. Good carbonation, noticable but not too harsh. I liked the flavor of this beer, not too strong in the hops or malt department. Almost a peachy undertone with a slight bitter bite at the back of my throat and no discernable aftertaste. Good for evening sippin.

Orange amber color pours a tall haed. Sweet hoppy aroma, but only a mild hop bite. Just the way I like it actually. Easy to drink without having to think about what you're drinking. I'd have this one again.

Nice deep reddish color. judging by the surfing lighthouse on the label (yes, it's riding the wave) i was hoping for something to assail and batter my senses silly. i got something that's mildly malty and good...but not what i had expected. i guess if they called it "Light Pissy Rain Amber Ale" it wouldn't sell so well.
