Nose is mild but displays toasted malts, caramel and earthy tones. Initial taste is bready with small amounts of caramel sweetness topped with some spices. Mid palate displays a mild citrus. Finishing with average duration and balancing hop bitterness. There is nothing special about this amber ale. boFNjackson (1322), Portland, Oregon, USA

Toasted malt and citrus on the nose. Foamy palate and lots of citrus flavors with leafy malt and a chalky alcohol presence. Pretty easy to drink, about as good is this style could probably get. Amber ales are like the wine coolers of beer. Gpnterojd (164), Orangeville, Ontario, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 18, 2008 Poured into a white plastic hotel cup (so no appearance rating). Aroma of lightly roasted malts and faint cheddar. The taste is reminiscent of a cracker with a dose of blunt hops. Medium body. Slightly bitter and medium lived aftertaste. Enjoyable, but breaks no molds. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Pours a cloudy amber with a smallish, short lived head. Smell is sticky, malt with a bit of a guaze-like odor to it. Taste is mainly malty again with the band-aidy like sweet flavor. Medium bodied and drinkable, but hindered from the possibly unintended malty flavor. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Cloudy amber with thin quick head. Smell is pale lager crap with some water undertones too. Flavor is medicinal - like licking a bandaid covered in neosporin. Palate is average and watery and thin. Not something I really want again. BBB63 (4271), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Bottle served in pint glass: Hazy golden hue (appears bottled conditioned) with a fading fluffy head and spotty lace. The aroma has a grainy, cardboardy, veggie, syrupy, caramel, and herbal note. The taste profile just is a mess, cardboardy and wet grains along with some cabbage and mineral water character. There is some light bitterness and metallic notes of the finish. Just not a very refreshing beer and is below average in a style that is below average to begin with. (methinks this is not the same quality as back in 2003-04) alexsdad06 (1106), Ohio, USA

Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small fizzy diminishing beige head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt with some spicey fruitiness. Decent, but typical amber flavor. Caramel malt, slight bitterness, a little spicey fruit. Light/medium bodied and very easy to drink. I could session this with no problem. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA
