I’ve had this one in the beer cellar for some time now and finally decided to knock off the state of RI. It poured a typical amber body with a small head. The taste was decent to enjoyable: hops offset by light sweetness of malt. jcwattsrugger (5573), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is caramel-medium malt, toast, continental/earthy hops. Taste is caramel-medium malt, toast, flat/metallic/earthy-hops (fuggles?). aftertaste is metallic. An English amber. Mild carbonation. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2007 This beer pours a cloudy orange amber color and the head diminishes very quickly. It has a bitter carmel malt aroma with some hops. When you first taste it there is strong hops and is very bitter. As the beer warms up you start to taste some earthy flavors due to the carmel malt and some mild fruits mainly apple. Drink4Satan (586), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 16, 2007 Pours a slightly hazy orange with a mostly dimishing head that fades to a thin cap. The aroma is heavily caramel, some peat, and light appley hops. The favour too, is mostly caramel malt, with some citrus and earthy flavours to balance it out. The body is medium to thin with soft carbonation. The finish is slightly bitter and metallic with some corn. This is a pretty good amber, and for the price, you can’t complain. This is my local brewery, so this is consistenly bought as our party beer. I feel the spring ale is like an amped up version of this. LyndaNova (497), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | May 9, 2007 Cold 12oz bottle: Pours a hazy dark orange color with a quickly diminished off-white foamy head. Aroma is of malt with some fruit, earth and caramel notes. Taste is of moderate malts, hops, spice, grapefruit and light caramel notes. Light bodied with moderate carbonation. Ending is somewhat astringent and metallic. I think this bottle may be "off". No date on the bottle. AdamSkillin (376), High Bridge, New Jersey, USA
