Sweet aroma of some underattenuated malt, light caramel, and maple syrup. Also has notes of warm toast and hints of cinnamon and butter. Flavor includes suggestions of apple skins and some tea-like astringency. Comes across like a sweet herbal tea.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 16, 2005 (12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with IMtheOptimator, thanks Andrew!) This amber ale is quite dry, toasty and very earthy, with even a slight sourness. Bitterness is fairly light, and there is practically no sweetness to this beer at all. Similarly, the aroma is dry, lightly toasty, a bit sour, and fairly earthy. Medium bodied, all elements contribute to a pretty clean and dry mouthfeel. Orange-amber in color with a moderate haze. Small off-white head settles fairly quickly to a ring. Not really my kind of amber ale, but it’s not bad. beerbill (1963), Laurel, New York, USA

Pours amber with a thin, almost non-existent head that disappeared quickly. Not particularly aromatic or flavorful. I won’t go back for seconds on this one. Cletus (5056), Connecticut, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 25, 2005 12oz bottle from a trade with IMtheOptimator - Thanks Andrew! - Pours amber with a short white head that fades fairly quick. Aroma is just a hint of caramel malt. Flavor is also malty. Caramel, toffee, and a decent grassy hop finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation. This is very drinkable but like most ambers it fails to impress. ChazyRPh (571), Chazy, New York, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Aug 17, 2005 bottle courtesy of DYCSoccer. Clear amber pour with virtually no head. Maybe a hint of malt aroma, maybe a hint of banana, but nothing else really. Predominantly malty, with a hint of hop presence. Unimpressive, faint caramel flavor, decent mouthfeel, too one dimensional. Drinkable, but nothing I’d long for. jasonp (1513), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 21, 2005 Clear copper with a medium off-white head. Some light caramel in the nose, not much else. Flavor has notes of toasted malt, caramel and toffee with a light to medium hop presence. Moderately sweet, with a light to medium amount of bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Decent head retention. A solid beer, but there’s nothing there to make it stand out. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 27, 2005 Amber-orange with a frothy head. Cakey nose. Big sweetness right off the bat. Kind of like Astropop candy. Big crystal. Nice and smooth carbonation/body. Chalky malts, with notes of powdery chocolate and syrupy caramel. Mild bitterness, but somewhat balancing. Flavorful, easy-drinking beer.
