Commercial Description:
Hurricane Amber Ale is a full flavored beer which clearly has more taste than other domestic and imported light beers while at the same time does not overpower the drinker with heavy body or excessive bitterness.

Hazy amber body with big off-white head. Aroma is floral, earthy, some spiced sweetness. Taste is floral, caramel, medium sweet, some spice. Hops are present, but not very bitter. Light-medium body. Easy-to-drink beer, but nothing I'd seek out.

12oz bottle. Poured a deep amber and slightly hazy amber color with a larger sized off white head. Aromas of toasted malts, light caramel, and light citrus. Watery tastes of the same. All around thin.

12oz bottle-pours a big foamy off white head that laces and amber color. Aroma is caramel-medium malt, toast, continental/earthy hops. Taste is caramel-medium malt, toast, flat/metallic/earthy-hops (fuggles?). aftertaste is metallic. An English amber. Mild carbonation.

Pours a transparent golden bronze color with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet dark toasted caramel malt with a touch of hops. Body starts with a mild buttery sweetness with some toasty caramel maltiness. An ok amber apart from the diacetyl.

Amber with a thin white ring around the glass. Smells of candy and vitamins. Taste is tarte and spicey. Not impressed with this one.

12 oz bottle, courtesy of CapFlu, courtesy of DYCSoccer (I think). Darkish amber, smallish lasting head. Really nice caramel-vanilla nose with some light orangey hops in the background. Not nearly as good in the flavor department, though it’s reasonably well-made. Slightly smoky, hints of hops towards the end, a bit of bitter chocolate, caramel -- but too thin and harsh at the finish. Drinkable, but I’ll pass on another.

Bottle served in pint glass: Hazy golden hue (appears bottled conditioned) with a fading fluffy head and spotty lace. The aroma has a grainy, cardboardy, veggie, syrupy, caramel, and herbal note. The taste profile just is a mess, cardboardy and wet grains along with some cabbage and mineral water character. There is some light bitterness and metallic notes of the finish. Just not a very refreshing beer and is below average in a style that is below average to begin with. (methinks this is not the same quality as back in 2003-04)
