emerica56 (484), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA May 18, 2007 This beer pours a cloudy orange amber color and the head diminishes very quickly. It has a bitter carmel malt aroma with some hops. When you first taste it there is strong hops and is very bitter. As the beer warms up you start to taste some earthy flavors due to the carmel malt and some mild fruits mainly apple.
pinkzambia (890), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 7, 2008 Tap: Clear amber color with a small white head especially around the edge of the glass. The aroma wasn’t anything to write about either way. The hop presence is definitely noticeable, but well-balanced with the malts. The feel is semi-thick and an all around good brew. kiefdog (482), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 14, 2008 On tap at the Lobster Claw (Orleans, MA). Pours a clear amber color with off-white head. Some lacing of the glass. Aroma is slightly sweet with floral notes. Aroma is predominantly grain and spice with some sweet malt. Flavor is malty with some earthy and vegetable notes that transition to a hoppy bitterness. Generally light to medium body with a quick finish. 41cubs (32), , New Jersey, USA Jul 14, 2008 looks like an amber should. Good smell, like flower petals and barley smashed up in a copper pestal. Below average flavor and a bit flimsy on on the tongue. leitrim65 (396), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 9, 2008
On tap in Newport back in May. Pours an orange - amber color with little to no head. Malt and bread in the nose. Light bodied with notes of roasted malt and bread flavors. A very simple beer, nothing impressive about this one. nuplastikk (463), Maryland, USA Jun 23, 2008 12oz bottle. Medium light amber colored beer. Off burnt butterscotch flavors. Hoppy crispness saves it from amber malt hell. Not really a good beer, but preferable to macro-swill I suppose. Certainly not recommendable.
