Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy amber color ale with a quite large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of grassy bitter hops with deep malt backbone. Taste is a balanced mix between some grassy hops with some clear bitter notes and a huge malt backbone that is quite dry. Body is full with minimal filtration and good carbonation with no signs of the alcohol. Very well done and definitely better then expected.

2009 Bottle - Thanks beerbill! - Pours a hazy amber with a small white head...aroma is sweet and citrusy, hop floral...flavour is pleasantly bitter, dry toffee and a bit of resin...wonderfully dry with a lingering piney bitterness...really enjoyed this one!

12-oz. Thanks, Hopscotch! Pours a deeply murky dark brown. Loose, filmy grayish foam atop. Light stringy lacing. Caramel and loads of butter on the nose. The butter’s definitely gonna be an issue, you can tell right away. Almost sweaty-buttery. Creamy medium body with well-placed carb. Shaping up to be a nice sweet malty bitter ASA, somewhere between Arrogant Bastard and the less-attenuated Lagunitas stuff. But on top of the roast and toast and nuts and piney resin, there’s this swirling butter monster that kinda gets in everywhere. Would score .4 to .5 higher if it weren’t for the diacetyl.

Bottle courtesy of beerbill. My first from Rhode Island – thanks Bill! Pours clear dark amber with a one finger tan head that leaves delicate lacing. The nose is caramel malt and sweet citrus. The taste is malt, brown sugar, ripe citrus and faint resin in the finish. Medium mouthfeel – decent beer. Thanks again Bill!

A bonus on a trde from AllDayDrinker. Really dark brown, small bubbly brownish head, great lace. Really strong aroma of molasses, soy sauce, burnt brown sugar. Very nice. Medium carbonated mouthfeel. Taste of more burnt brown sugar, dark dry baker’s chocolate, and molasses. Really nice roasty aftertaste that lingers. Overall a solid beer.

Poured ruby amber with a nice fluffy head. Aroma a dark fruit, caramel and that Nugget aroma. Taste is sweet with full body hop finish. Reminds me of a balanced DIPA but with a little more nutty and sweet taste.

Pours a dark amber color with a small foamy off white head. Nose is sweet, fruits, caramel and earthy hops. Initial taste displays lots caramel and red berry. Mid palate displays more resiny hop characteristics and toffee. Finishing slightly nutty with continuing caramel and resin bitter. Alcohol is very nicely masked and extremely drinkable for a 9% brew. Good head retention and palate duration. Overall enjoyable!
