emerica56 (575), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Sep 8, 2007 This beer pours a dark brown color with not much of a head at all it faded rather quickly. it has an aroma of earthy tones and pete. As you drink it you get nice chocolate malt and roasted walnut as well as some fine earth flavors like mild grass and a creamy finish. desurfer (1067), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Jul 14, 2007 Draft at the brewery. Nearly opaque body with a moderate tan head. Aroma is roasty and sweet. Flavor of coffee and bitter chocolate with a bit of smokiness and little hops. Not bad. Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Jun 25, 2007 On draught at the brewery. Pours brown with a tan head. Smells of light roasted malt and some sweet malt. Some nutty hints emerge as the beer warms. Tastes of roasted malt, some spice, hints of chocolate and somewhat chewy. Decent. Alldaydrinker (557), Norwood, Massachusetts, USA Apr 17, 2007 Updated: Sep 7, 2007I never thought of adding this beer since it was a experimental test beer only available at NS. This stout was very enjoyable, though I had it couple weeks ago I can not give a full detailed rating. Notes of roasted coffee and hint of chocolate, medium body, medium head. Good complexity on the palate with chocolate, coffee and caramel. I am definitely going to get another growler.
