Nicely hoppy throughout, with the aforementioned grapefruit and pine coming through. Good viscous malt base throughout. As it warms, an earthy character emerges. Not bad at all. Thanks to Springslicker for this one! boto (1344), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 8, 2005 Draught @ Connecticut Brewfest: This beer poured a pretty standard orangish amber color, with a big white head. The nose was pretty potent. There was a big blast of grapefruit hops. Not much else was evident. There was a good malt body to the beer, but it was a bit harsh. The hops were a bit overdone and not well balanced. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 16, 2005 Pours copper and flat with no noticeable head and barely a ring of medium sized bubbles arund the perimeter. Smell is sweet with roses and orange peel at the forefront. Taste is bittersweet and mild with some floral hoppy notes and a peppery finish. argo0 (6978), Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 5, 2005 (12oz bottle) Clear amber body topped by medium off-white head. Aroma is medium sweet, orange, floral, caramel, light grapefruit. Taste is medium sweet, orange, caramel, biscuit. Finishes with a medium orange/floral/light grapefruit bitterness that reveals the use of dry hopping. Light-medium body. Unusual to have an IPA as a summer seasonal, but the easy drinkability makes me think the brewery has the right idea. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 8, 2005 Bottle from somebody: poured orange with a thin white head. I served this to myself too cold. Mild aroma of hops and malt. Mostly malty flavor with light hops. Mild bitter finish. Average at best. Falconseye8 (525), Cartersville, Georgia, USA

Not as grapefruitty as Hop Ottin but very smooth and very drinkable. Saw this one on Vintage Cellars Website and couldn’t resist. I’m glad I picked it. Anybody else needing a RI beer this is an excellent choice.
