Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of coffee and malt. Flavor is thick creamy coffee, but subtle and not overbearing. Nicely done.

Dark hazy brown color. Aroma is of malts, cocoa, and slight milk in the undertones. Taste is more of a chocolate and malt mix. Has a chocolate aftertaste. It’s kind of like having a tootsie roll in a beer.

[2069-20090402] 12floz bottle. Mild roasty coffee hints in the aroma. Slightly hazy, dark brown red body with a quick foamy light tan head. More coffee roast flavour throughout with bitter grainy alcohol. Medium-full body. Average.

Bottle (12oz). Shared by jerc and mabel with me and garthicus. Chestnut pour, clear, with a smallish tan head. Dry aroma of wool and stale cocoa. Dry, harsh, stale burnt taste, very bitter, no character or clear taste at all Average body, harsh mouthfeel and aftertaste, mild carbonation .... no thanks, boderline unpleasant.

2009-04-02. Dark ruby tinged brown body with a nice modest foamy tan head. (4+) Muddled aroma, lightly herbaceous, tobacco leaf? Flavour has a vegetal/leafy character up front, base malt, roughly bitter finish. Average palate. Meh. Did not care for it. Bottle from Cletus

Nice aroma of chocolate, caramel, other malts. The appearance is brown/black, tan head. The flavor is malty, chocolatey, caramel, roasty but not burnt by any means. The finish is dry, moderate hopping noticeable. Decent portr overall. Fits into a loosely defined category of winter warmer fairly nicely, except I don’t get much spice.

Bottle; poured a dark, cola brown with a little light brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, caramel; light roasted malt presence. Low carbonation; soft on the palate. Flavor was ok, but unexciting. Caramel mostly with some chocolate and roasted notes. Forgettable.
