Healthy tan head atop a clear near-black body. Aroma is scrumptious chocolate, slightly roasty. Flavor is much the same, though the roastiness is more pronounced, and there’s also some hop bitterness in the swallow. Fairly rich and really tasty.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with mahogany highlights and a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt. Mouthfeel was a bit thin and had a slightly bitter finish. Flavor of chocolate and coffee.

Deep hazy brown beer covered by a generously laced off-white head. It combines its dark maltiness with a good dose of estery yeastiness to procures bready, plumy and simply generally fruity flavours, accompanied by a growing whisper of alcohol. Sweet and diplomatic, although its hoppiness feels a bit out of place, I pick up saaz and that would be surprising indeed in such a beer. Leafy and quite floral. Light-medium bodied, soft carbonation. An interesting offering, original, but without any stand-out qualities.

Pours a nearly opaque dark brown with a thin, wispy-lacing light tan head. Sweet cocoa and caramel malty aroma has a touch of green hops and some fruitiness. Body starts with a nice light almost aged, malty sweetness with a touch of toasted nuttiness. Has some characteristics of an early infection, but there really isn’t much sourness to speak of. Just a fairly authentic British style porter. Thanks to kramer17801 for the bottle!

My Bottom Line:
Toasted malts and their earthy, roasted offspring dominate the underlying caramel until the very end of each sip in this pleasant Porter with Brown Ale leanings.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam circles the darkest brown.
-The sweet fruitiness of dates appears once in a while.
-Toasted bread crumbs comprise most of the finish.
-The slow carbonation and relaxed maltiness make for a comfortable mouthfeel.
-Hops didn’t really balance out the expressive maltiness in my bottle, adding but a touch of their support to the finish.

Bottle.

Pours brown with a thin tan head. Smells of coffee, chocolate, some grassy hops. Taste is of chocolate, peat moss, coffee and slightly peppery. Finish is oily and semi sweet.

Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, roasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A bit light and watery, and the aroma could be more interesting and bold, but it's a serviceable mild porter.
