The aroma is malty with some raisin, mild grain, leafy green hops. I taste some nuttiness, more raisin, brown bread, caramel, alcohol. WeeHeavySD (2970), San Diego (Hillcrest), California, USA

Pours orangey with a tan head. Nose is sweet and intense. Taste is also quite intense. Its ok, a little too cloying. Ughsmash (4002), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2009 Many thanks to Matt for sending this my way, 2007 vintage!! Poured fiery reddish-orange with a short cap of off-white to beige head. The aroma picked up ripe plums and other dark fruit with grapefruit meat and dry, dusty spices accenting.. digging deeper, aged caramel and brown sugar show.. quite nice. The flavor opened with a very dry, tightly-carbonated feel backed by caramel and dark fruity notes.. white pepper and some alcohol warmth surrounded.. finished with very dry warmth leaving more of an impression than the flavor. Medium-bodied and dry (as mentioned) on the palate.. mild fruity bitterness gave welcome character considering the age.. all around some solid stuff. Nekronos (2265), Xalapa, Mexico

Aroma, brown sugar, caramel, sweet malty notes, some earthiness. Flavor, floral notes, earthy dark fruits, caramel and brown sugar, some roasted notes. brewandbbq (269), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Pours dark amber with a tight and dense white head. A slight chill haze in the body beneath the half-inch of head.
Aromatics are clean with light malt. Not much going on except some wet cardboard notes, and light roast.
Mouthfeel is medium and somewhat spritzy, fairly light and crisp.
The pallet is light on the malt for an Eisbock, and dry. Some mild toasted malt steps forward with wet brown paper. Alcohol is warming but this not significant in any way.
Bitterness is balancing and the beer is quite clean except for the obvious oxidation.
Finishes quick and crisp.
Dissapointing compared the 1994 vintage in the cellar.
Akin to an "Eisbock-light"

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 5, 2008 750ml bottle that I didn’t mean to age for a year. I bought it but never got around to drinking it or just didn’t feel like drinking it. Now I wish I had a few more on hand. Toasted nuts, bread, raisins in the aroma. Flavour is a little more straightforward with a malty flavour and sweet finish. Bready/raisiny taste lingers on the tongue. The 8% is well hidden. Very drinkable. Cheers! | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 20, 2007 Poured a nearly crystal clear maple syrup, the lower grade, dark stuff. Aroma is odd, sweet sticky malts, Quaker oat containers, bobo gets broccolli, I get a cabbage-like note, some hops seem to be there as well, but are very muted. Flavor is a touch stronger, with the roasted grains coming forth. I spite thee, oh green bottle.
