Crystalline amber body, very pretty. A thin near-white head recedes to wispy foam and a ring at the edge. The nose is of toasted grains, plastic and sweet greenery(not vegetal, in an offensive expression). Carboard and broccolli make gleeful appearances too. This is not winning me over. Moderate grassy hoppiness saves this from complete disaster, as well as the fact that alcohol is very well-concealed. The flavor is much better, but it’s still nothing I’ll be seeking out in the future. sweetness is mild, bitterness is low-mild and steady. Cereal grain notes are plentiful and pretty tasty. The finish is mildly spicy and mildly hoppy, cereal and oxidation lingering. The mouthfeel is lifeless and light-medium bodied, uninteresting.

750 mL green bottle. Very nice, except for the "green" part. (I suppose they’re going for a wine thing. If so, why no cork?) It is bronze, with a small head. The moderate aroma is of mostly malt, with a little spicy hop thrown in. The taste is malty, with the same spicy "taste" from the aroma. There is a little bit of alcohol near the end. Slightly bitter finish. It tastes kinda like an "Imperial Speckled Hen." Very smooth. Low carbonation. Quite good, but more British ale than doppelbock.

Clear amber colour with an off white head. Malty, grainy sweet aroma with an alcohol sweet touch. Swett, sugary and alcohol sweet flavor.

Bouteille 750ml - 2006 (LCBO).

750 ml bottle. pours broze with an average white head. aromas of caramel, raisin, plum, alcohol. great malty sweet flavours. layers of different sweets shine through sip after sip. the flavours are quite subdued when cold but i let this warm up to just below room temp and thats when this one was at its finest. a little pricey but this brew can command it. i cant wait to try other vintages.
