This full-bodied, dark ale, styled after British ales, is more assertive and darker than traditional Canadian ales. A blend of roasted malts from Canada and Great Britain create an brew that's smooth and rich with a subtle darker flavor.

showed up at my place over new years. an entire 6 pack left behind that wasn’t discovered until today! it’s not bad! pours medium->dark amber with a light head that dissipates quickly but not completely. good from the bottle, better in a glass. possibly a nice summer beer.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with (thanks!). Poured a dark orange color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of light caramel, light smoke, and light grains (everything on the light side). Tastes of caramel, nuts, and toasted malts. Creamy but thin body.

Dark amber ale with a good white head. Caramel aroma with notes of nuts and light smokeyness. Good malt base with nuttyness, like a good brown ale, not too sweet. Medium bodied. Jan. 2005.

Not bad; a nice imitation of British ales, it’s just far too watery and weak in character. The hops stand out, but doesn’t really suit the malt variety.

draught. copper body and a small white head. perfumey fruit aroma and grassy graininess. fairly bitter and astringent earthy graininess. nothing special to see here. mediocre.

Good appearance. Nice roasted colour. Good aroma. Plenty of hops. Nice malting (toasted, caramel chocolate). I found it well balanced on the palate. Enjoyable.

Sampled from a bottle, this one pours to a thin, tan head with a lightly hazy garnet colored body. The aroma has a huge doughy aroma with cherries and milk chocolate. The flavor is biscuits that have been wood fire roasted with a cherry vanilla glaze on them. There’s something slightly odd with the flavor that I can’t pinpoint or describe. Perhaps that’s the odd hops they used? The palate is a tad thin and slick. Needs to be fuller bodied. Can’t say that I’m a fan...

Thanks for this one, pintbypint. Light brown color with just very thin traces of a head. The aroma is cherries and oak. The mouthfeel is thin with plenty of carbonation. The taste is wood and cherries with some slight vanilla character. This is interesting, but nothing extraordinary.
