| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 4, 2004 Bottle pours dark amber, medium off-white frothy head quickly turns into a small film, soft carbonation, with fairly sticky lacing.   Aroma is of malts, grains, but moreso biscuits.   Lightly malty, a bit sweet, grassy with a very minor caramel flavor.   Seems fairly light and rather thin for an English Strong Ale.   Finishes with only minor biscuity sweetness.   Not robust enough in body and mouthfeel but still enjoyable.   Thanks goes out to CaptainCougar for the trade!

The nose has a little alcohol and lots of malt. Maybe a little raisin or grape scents along with a hint of coffee. Fist taste was mild with a nice amount of carbonation and tons of malt. Slightly sweet with a slight roasted flavour. The finish was slightly grassy with a hint of caramel. Great beer all around. jayme9874 (756), Hamburg, New York, USA
