Copper colour, thin white lace. Malty caramel toffee aroma with a big shot of berry/cherry fruit. Flavour is also malty and fruity. A bit of spicy hops and a softly bitter finish. Nice.

On tap, Bow and Arrow, Toronto. Light brown body, very sweet aroma, with a hint of raisins. Good long lasting white head. Great carbonation, and very active mouthfeel. Decent brown ale like taste, with a fruity kick at the end. A little thin. It had been a while since I had this. A good session ale.

lots of lacing, overall average. Malty bsicuit sweet but bitterness there too, in the finish. English style yes. Spicy hops, and that’s the aroma. On-tap at Fort York Brew Fest 2004.

Clear, dark amber w/ finger of light beige foam. Aroma of carmel, dark honey, & berry jam w/ a hint of spicy hops. Medium feel. Flavour is malty (caramel) & fruity w/ some earthy, spicy hops.

Bottle pours dark amber, medium off-white frothy head quickly turns into a small film, soft carbonation, with fairly sticky lacing.   Aroma is of malts, grains, but moreso biscuits.   Lightly malty, a bit sweet, grassy with a very minor caramel flavor.   Seems fairly light and rather thin for an English Strong Ale.   Finishes with only minor biscuity sweetness.   Not robust enough in body and mouthfeel but still enjoyable.   Thanks goes out to CaptainCougar for the trade!

This Ale pours a deep amber with a creamy light brown head. The nose has a little alcohol and lots of malt. Maybe a little raisin or grape scents along with a hint of coffee. Fist taste was mild with a nice amount of carbonation and tons of malt. Slightly sweet with a slight roasted flavour. The finish was slightly grassy with a hint of caramel. Great beer all around.

Has at Fort Erie slots. Bottled. Copper/brown colored, decent head and lace, soft, drinkabe and balanced but subdued in most areas. You could do worse.
