Commercial Description:
This full-bodied, dark ale, styled after British ales, is more assertive and darker than traditional Canadian ales. A blend of roasted malts from Canada and Great Britain create an brew that's smooth and rich with a subtle darker flavor.

Deep garnet color, with a pure white head. Head is large and dense. Aroma is a little faint, mostly malt, but some hops. Crystal evident. Nice, up-front toasty malt flavor, finishes with a slight spicy, hoppy tail. Good balance throughout. Good Special bitter style, although not strong enough for a "strong" ale.

This Ale pours a deep amber with a creamy light brown head. The nose has a little alcohol and lots of malt. Maybe a little raisin or grape scents along with a hint of coffee. Fist taste was mild with a nice amount of carbonation and tons of malt. Slightly sweet with a slight roasted flavour. The finish was slightly grassy with a hint of caramel. Great beer all around.

I missed this one last week but it was a pleasant beer. One of their best with a decent malt/hop balance. Poured a golden colour and finished clean.

bouteille (plusieurs) grande ale, plus foncée que les pale ale traditionnel, plus vers les ales d’irlande. une des meilleurs ales brassées au canada, rien à voir avec les ales de mégas-brasseurs.

A more decent ale from Ontario. Poured a dark copper, spicy fruity, notes of roasted malts. Excellent. Molson stay away.

Had a pint of this at the Bow & Arrow in Toronto last night. It had been years since I’d last had it, and this was one of those rare cases where an Ontario micro that I drank in my younger days is actually better than I remember in being back then. Very nice orange-amber colour with a small off-white head. Sweet malt & cherry aroma with a hint of oily hops. Refereshing body. Flavour starts sweet, is fruity in the middle, and slides into a dry, citric hop finish. A very good & underrated session ale.

A flavorful, mildly hoppy and spicy British ale. I'm tasting notes of molasses and spices in here. This is a good English Strong ale.
