Ruby, pours a large(short lived) head, nice lace as well. Smoke, almonds, raisins and malt flavours. Well balanced, smooth, a good example of the style. As Oakes suggested, I will cellar a few, to see how it improves. presario (2982), Calgary, Alberta, Canada

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 5, 2002 Malty aroma, some caramel (and maple?) sweetness, roastiness, and a hint of must. Dark reddish amber in color, clear, with a slight head and little visible effervescence. Ever so slightly bottle-conditioned. Flavor is very malty, with some sweet toasty breadiness, toffee, and some very light coffee and cocoa. Finish has a bit of lightly bitter hoppiness, then is again dominated by the malt. Light to medium bodied and a relatively thin mouthfeel. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada
