It really brings out the syrupy maltiness of the old days. argo0 (6951), Washington DC, USA

Deep brown in colour. Same in mouth, but rather thin. Faint hops which cant seem to cut across the sweetness. Is the beer less tasteful than it used to be or is it just that i had much better old ales? 7-3-5-3-12
04/14/05: The new Olde Jack is now 5%! The bottle says Niagara Pale Ale but there is a little script saying Olde Jack...what the f...? Sickly golden ale with a thin white head. thevinous notes have given way to maple and C-hops. In mouth, a thinnish shy malt with little caramel and nutty notes. Rather mild hops. Getting closer to a session ale, with rather watery body. The Moosehead effect. 7-2-5-2-10

The aroma is rich vanilla and some oranges with milk chocolate. The taste is roasted nuts with some bread. There is also a slightly dry character of leaves. A decent brew. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 17, 2005 Cooked vegetables, brown sugar and some nutty and toasty malts in the aroma. Clear amber-brown with decent off-white head that recedes to thin but lasting cover. Nutty, sweet, honey flavour is mildly botter with some cooked vegetables (DMS). Medium body with fair to moderate carbonation that is engaging on the tongue. Bottle (trade - Feb. 2005). Thanks, MrManning!
