0.75L bottle, murky brown colour with some reddish taints smaal stable head. spicey aroma with some unusual spices, i detected cumin and saffron, also some vanila. Spicey flavours, clove and cinnamon, scent of orange peel and some mellow white fruit, all souronding a big malty backbone Alcohol is strong and a little overpowering. Body is not to big for such a strong brew, sour aftertaste with some notes of dried fruits.

From bottle, Dark red with large head, aroma contains high sweetness with dried fruit notes, sweet raisin flavor with syrup texture, complexity of flavors is low vs. my yet favorite st.bernardus 12. Bitterness is low, aftertaste is nice.

75cl bottle, 2007 limited edition. Poured a dark amber brown that was very opaque with a thin cream colored head. Aroma was sweet with winter spices. A thick flavor of brown sugar, ripe dark fruits, rich roasted malts, nuts and winter spices. Very well balanced and smooth. Not one ingrediant overpowering another and the alcohol is nicely subdued but you still get a nice warmin gfeeling. A wonderful winter treat.

Draft at RisRas, Aarhus. Small white creamy head, brown hazy body. Nice aromas of ficus, date, brown sugar. Creamy texture and full alcoholic body. Very good balanced flavor. Overall a very good beer, and even better on draft.

2007 bottle.

reddish amber hued chocolatey brown pour with lots of junk swimming around in it. it*s crowned by a creamy frothy tan head. lots of candi sugar and orange jump out of the aroma. that*s followed by a touch of spiciness, dark fruit, grass, earth and dirty thyme notes. loads of dark sugar richness on the palate but it is not overly sweet. a pleasant bitterness throughout keeps it very enjoyable... flavors of candied orange peel, nutty chocolate, rich malt and medjoul dates come forward before a spicy warm alcoholic finish. the thyme is much more noticeable mid palate and in the aftertaste than in the aroma. it*s certainly full bodied and very rich yet it still maintains drinkability.

there*s a fundamental comfort with the thyme...? 8/4/8/4/15/3.9

dark reddish brown with large off-white head. high level of carbonation. flavor low of malt, mostly of dark candi sugar and a nice fruity yeast character. little to no hop character. a dry finish with some alcohol noticeable and a nice finishing depth. very good

2007 bottle. Dark brown with a frothy tan head. Nice caramel, candi sugar aroma with spices. Light to medium body. Sweet brown sugar and spices mixed with a dry bitter alcohol twang to finish. Very good aged xmas beer.
