Aroma consists of hints of maltiness, spices and thyme with citrus undertones. Very cmplex taste consisting of plum and dark berries, chocolate malt, sugar cane, balanced out by a nice spiciness and slightly dry hopped finish. Very tasty. sheatripper (863), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2007 750 ml. "2006" bottle which unfortunately gushed upon opening. Dark brown pour with a quickly fading beige head. Bready and cakey malt aroma with nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla and a bit of chocolate. Some yeast and alcohol wafting up now and then. Flavor of spiced cake, with an underlying raisiny tanginess at first, which settles into a warming caramel character with notes of vanilla, candied peel, baking spices and a touch of pepper at the end. Pretty good Xmas brew. Cool painted bottle. Defreni (999), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Nice spice and fruit scents appear off the nose and merge with yeast and very quiet hop aromas. Nice full bodied taste with a vast array of flavors spanning my spectrum; fruit, cinnamon, coriander, citrus, yesty dusty notes. Had this brew after devouring a thanksgiving day turkey and was left with an enormous and sleepy grin. A very delicious beer. One to retaste and rerate and enjoy every time. especially during this season Nate (2538), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 22, 2007 2006 bottle. Great sweet aroma, malty with plum, raisin, vanilla, a bit of chocolate, sour apple, and toffee. Light orange peel and some underlying spicyness. A little bit of vapory character. Fruity rich and lightly hopped. Aroma is very comforting. Dark coppery brown clear with thin off-white lacing head. Medium-heavy watery body with medium carbonation - goes down very easily, with a bit of warming. Starts sweet with bread, deep fruity esters, plum, some vanilla and spice, woody. Orange peel and some bit of spice in there, a bit herbal but very mellow. Candy sugar, marshmallow, toffee, and light toasted grain. A bit of alcohol, slight warming. Finish is sweet but dried enough by the little bit of hops and floral spicyness. Not sickly sweet as many can be, and leaves you with a nice mellow sweet aftertaste. This is a really nice beer to enjoy on a cold Thanksgiving day. BDR (2154), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

Sweet and spicy aroma with caramel, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Flavor is simailar; very sweet with spices dominating. Cinnamon and vanilla. Full and creamy body. Almost too sweet to drink the whole bottle, but good to sip on a glass with dessert. TorbenH (136), Frederikshavn, Denmark
