Poured from the 750 bottle a dark brown with a tan head. Aroma was of sweet malts and vinous fruits. Flavor was malty with a candy sugar sweetness.

Bottle. Pours a brown colour with a longlasting tan head. Sweet malty and spicy aroma. Very malty spicy and yeasty and sweet flavor. Warming malty sweet finish, with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

bottle 2006. brown pour with thin tan head and rising bubbles. bananna, bubble gum, sugar and malt aroma. banana, yeast, vegetable, candy maltiness. spice was light. Not too bad but it didn’t live up to my expectation.

Bottle. Dark, hazy, brown with tan head that disappears quite fast. Sweet, candy like taste. Low bitterness, short after taste. More refreshing than most dark beers. Low alcohol taste for being so strong. Soft carbonation,

2002 Edition. Pours a very chunky chestnut brown from a careful pour into a tulip. Tan head quickly subsides to seim rim and surface. Caramel and alcohol aromas. Sweet and spicy (pepper, thyme - no hint of the corriander on the label). Dry, lasting aged-bitter finish.

75 cL bottle. Pours deep dark almost black. Brown head. Smell of malts and chocolate/coffee notes. Dark roasted taste, well balanced with alcohol well hidden. Very enjoyable beer for the evening.

Pours very dark, with a large head that dissipates quickly. Not a great deal of spice, but an enjoyable, thick dark Belgian ale taste

0.75L. Poured brown with bits of sediment and tan head. The aroma has dark fruit, some sweet malts, a bit of spice, raisins, a wisp of chocolate and something vaguely citrus and sort of undefinable. Flavor is similar to the aroma with cherries, dates, plums, raisins, cinnamon, some subtle maltiness, a spice or two and silky chocolate. Nice dark fruit and chocolate after taste. No sense of the ABV.
